Website setup fee vs monthly fee: what are you paying for?

A simple way to understand NDW's published pricing and the difference between initial project work and ongoing website care.

The setup fee pays for the initial website project

The setup charge covers the work required to plan and produce the initial website within the agreed package scope. That can include structure, content support, custom responsive design, development and launch preparation.

NDW currently publishes three setup prices: Essential at £499, Professional at £899 and Premium at £1,499.

The monthly fee supports the ongoing service

The published monthly prices are £89 for Essential, £149 for Professional and £249 for Premium. The plans include hosting and ongoing care, with the level of updates, integrations and support varying by package.

Why separate the two?

Building a website and keeping it running are different types of work. A setup fee makes the initial project cost visible; a monthly fee covers the continuing hosted service rather than hiding those costs inside one larger upfront figure.

What is not assumed

The published figures do not, by themselves, establish VAT treatment, minimum contract length, cancellation rights, ownership transfer rules, unlimited updates, domain inclusion or third-party integration fees. Those points should be confirmed before a project is agreed.

Choosing between packages

The right package depends on how much content and functionality the website needs. A five-page service business has a different scope from a business that needs many service pages, integrations or more complex ongoing work.
